Impromtu Photoshoot

Kage’s new 14mm eyes arrived today, and I realized I hadn’t taken any pictures of him in his new clothes (since Shinya came the same day), so I took out the camera to take a few quick snaps. It turned into a mini unplanned shoot. Sorry for the background, this happened in the living room while watching One Piece ^^;

Supplies and prepping for arrival!

Late last night, Lisa and I got word that our Kid Delfs had shipped! It seems they are currently in Alaska, waiting to be sent down to the lower 48. While I was hoping they had shipped on Friday and would get here today, I’m still happy to know they’re on their way.

In the meantime, today I received a new shirt for Kage, as well as three cans of Mr. Super Clear! I got two regular MSC and one UV cut for the top layers. I’ve never been able to try it for myself before, so I’m looking forward to doing some faceups with it! Of course, I can’t do anything today, since it’s below freezing… However, the weather later this week looks like it might be good for faceups! On Wednesday, when I suspect the boys to arrive, there’s a chance of snow, but maybe..!

Name Change

After some thought (and mostly due to his wig suiting him so well), I’m changing Koto’s name to Kage. I mainly gave him the name Koto because I liked it and I couldn’t think of anything else, but I think he suits my old character, Kage, very well. I’m getting this out of the way early on so that people don’t get too used to it!

And so, here’s the new Kage!

Adventures in Stringing

As promised, here is the adventure I had last night stringing my boy!

First off, this is how he arrived… literally a shoe box full of body parts!

And, naturally, Rio tried to help herself to his elastic… ^^;

Omi, meanwhile, decided to commandeer the lid to the shoe box. Cats are so predictable!

Unfortunately, I found this when I unwrapped the hands. Fixable with some glue, but still annoying. Later in the process, the ring finger fell of the other hand as well. Guess I’ll be buying him some new hands in the near future.

As I was laying out the body parts, Rio decided to try to help me again. How kind of her!

After much fighting with not having a proper elastic puller, I finally put him together! I’m really glad that Luts labels right from left. It would have been much harder if they didn’t. My first impression: Big! and kicky! He has some trouble holding poses, but it’s nothing that some sueding/etc won’t fix!

And the finished product! His head is made for a smaller body and while naked it’s a little bit apparent, but when clothed it’s not bad. He’s also way more ripped than I prefer, but hey, I got a good deal on this body, so I’m keeping it!

The only real complete outfits I have are my old Kisaki cosplays, so even though he looks slightly ridiculous in them, I took some quick complete photos for reference. Excuse the crappy lighting, this wasn’t a planned shoot!

My poor Koto still doesn’t have his real resin body, but that isn’t stopping him from looking fabulous 😀 Yesterday, he got a new wig, and while I wasn’t certain if it would be for him or my incoming El, it suits him so well that I think he’s keeping it!

And of course, what photoshoot would be complete without a feline assistant ^^;
